5th-6th march 08 Fluid concept demo

The recent board demo weekend at Scarborough’s fluid concept was such a success that we decided to leave Mark and Steve a selection of Quads, single fins and longboards for people to try over the next two months. Although the weather was cold the surfboards attracted a lot of interest. The waves were a clean 3ft in south bay on the Sunday and the boards received a lot of good positive feedback from surfers of all ages and levels of experience. Mark and myself where lucky enough to catch one of the points at around 6ft and really put the Prophet and Electroglide through there paces. As always Mark was surfing with style taking, some big drops and hooking some nice powerful turns. An all round fun weekend. thanks again to the local crew for there hospitality.

5th-6th July 08 Paddle round the pier

The Empire/Laminations crew brought some beautiful shinny new surfboards to the Paddle round the pier event in Brighton this year. it was a good opportunity to meet some great people and talk surfboards. despite the rain on Sunday there was a great atmosphere so hats of to Dave for organising the event. looking forward to next year!

Empire shaper Steve Croft ran a shaping demo at the unleashed festival as part of the Rip Curl board masters event. this as a great opportunity to help educate surfers about  materials with a lower environmental impact such as vegetable based resins and blanks. also the benefits of custom boards built by local craftsmen.
